Communications Coordinator

Communications Coordinators ensure that the company communications (internal and external) are accurate, fit for purpose and appropriate for the intended audience.

About this role

Typical duties

  • Prepares written materials including business communications, marketing copy, reports and presentation material
  • Responsible for proof reading materials prior to issue
  • Ensures that the Communication schedule is adhered to and that style and content of communication is appropriate for the intended audience
  • Liaises with internal departments to ensure that the communication methods are fulfilling organisational requirements
  • Responsible for updating Company's intranet with current issues, events and success stories
  • Collates and coordinates information for organisational news letters and other internal communication platforms in a timely manner
  • General administration including typing, data entry and filing
  • Participates as part of the office based Media emergency response team in the event of an emergency situation
  • Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision / management
  • Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times

In the industry

Communications Coordinators are normally found in larger organisations such as Operators and major Engineering and Drilling Contractors. They are responsible for sharing company related information in a timely manner, promoting the company in the appropriate forums / press / websites / social media, and for ensuring accuracy in content at all times. There are also specialist media and communications companies who employ Communications Coordinators

  • Marketing or Business related HNC/HND/BTEC or equivalent
  • Strong IT skills
  • Good organisation/administration skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
