The gas divers breathe during saturation diving is Heliox. Heliox is a mixture of Oxygen and Helium. Though perfect for deep diving it does have the disadvantage of making the diver's voice squeak (as if they have inhaled gas from a helium balloon) and this can make communication difficult.
